🐾 Around Town

☕ Café Nairobi — @cafenairobi254 · Palm Coast Farmers Market, every Sunday
I met Martin Kabaki at the market last Sunday. He grew up on a coffee farm in Kenya, and now he roasts every batch himself in Jacksonville: single-origin beans from the Mount Kenya region, with roasts named Leopard (light), Elephant (medium), and Lion (dark). In his words: "What makes Kenyan coffee special comes down to two things: very high elevation, and Mount Kenya. Africa's second-highest mountain was an active volcano millions of years ago, and the layers upon layers of volcanic ash it left behind make the soil incredibly rich in minerals — a total game changer for coffee." He's been at that market every Sunday for three years.

☕ FREE COFFEE GIVEAWAY! Martin is giving a bag of his small-batch Mount Kenya coffee to a lucky Toaster. Just reply "coffee" to this email to enter. It takes two seconds, and we'll announce the winner in an upcoming issue.

🧼 Seaside Sista Soap Co — @seasidesistasoapco · Sundays at the European Village open-air market
Kourtney makes handmade, herb-infused skincare, from eczema-focused products to everyday bath and body care. I met her at the Village market, where you'll find her on Sundays. She's also a licensed esthetician, offering facials, waxing, and lash and brow services by appointment at Rephlections Esthetics and Wellness.

🌭 A bratwurst trailer is coming — Sven Himmel, formerly of Palm Coast's Schnitzel-Time, is launching a homemade bratwurst food trailer. No dates or spots yet; we'll tell you when it rolls out.
